Join the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey and learn to identify potential hazards, modify your home for increased safety, and reduce your risk of falls.
Did you know that according to The National Council on Aging, one in four Americans aged 65+ falls each year? Every 11 seconds, an older adult is treated in the emergency room for a fall; every 19 minutes, an older adult dies from a fall. With these statistics, it’s important to address the issue of falling. At this informative program presented by Jaime Bennett, Community Outreach Coordinator with the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey (VNA), you will learn about risk factors for falls, steps you can take to prevent yourself from having a fall, as well as what to do in the event a fall occurs. Jaime has been with the VNA for over two years, and has a passion for educating the community at large on various topics in order to increase awareness and promote better health. We hope you will join us for this informative presentation!
