New Jersey Small Business Profile: The Office of Advocacy’s Small Business Profiles are an annual analysis of each state’s small business activities. Each profile gathers the latest information from key federal data-gathering agencies to provide a snapshot of small business health and economic activity.
US Small Business Administration (SBA): The SBA website provides many resources for small businesses including: a business start-up kit, financing and loan information, links to local assistance, and much more.
USA.gov - Small Business: This website allows users to search business resources from 24 U.S. government websites. It offers a wealth of information on all small business topics, including assistance and advice on business taxes, financing, importing/exporting, and government contracts. Local business resources can be searched by state or territory.
IRS - Starting a Business: The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) provides links to basic federal tax information for people who are starting a business, as well as information to assist in making basic business decisions.

SCORE: The Service Corp of Retired Executives is a volunteer association sponsored by the SBA. They provide expert advice on any business management topic.
Women's Center for Entrepreneurship Corporation: The Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship [WCEC] helps elevate women to business success through education, counseling, mentoring and entrepreneurial training.
Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED): CUEED’s economic development initiatives focus on assisting entrepreneurs to sustain and grow their businesses and thus create wealth within their communities.
UCEDC: UCEDC is a private non-profit Community Development Financial Institution that fosters economic growth. They provide financial and technical assistance to new and existing businesses with emphasis on benefiting under-served people and communities.
NJIT Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC): NJIT Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) provides free counseling in addition to training and technical resources to New Jersey-based businesses. They help businesses navigate the procurement process to better identify viable sourcing opportunities in the government and private sector marketplaces.
U.S. Export Assistance Centers: There are no USEACs located in New Jersey; the closest are in Philadelphia and New York. These centers provide advice to first-time exporters and also run the Export Working Capital Program which helps small businesses export.
