There is an alarming increase in the reported rates of mental health problems, such as stress, depression, and anxiety. With the mounting demands of work, and balancing it with family and other responsibilities in our lives, more people are experiencing mental health issues. It is important for people to understand that mental health issues are extremely common. In this discussion, participants will learn how to identify both the physical and mental signs of stress, lifestyle changes that can positively affect their mental health, and treatments that can manage them. The talk will include effective tools for self-management, and when it is time and where to seek help. In the Q & A, participants can openly ask questions for engaging conversation!
About the Presenter: Dr. Sarabjit Singh is a Board-Certified psychiatrist in both Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He currently is the Corporate Medical Director Psychiatric Services and Programs at Saint Clare’s Health. Dr. Singh completed his training at Columbia University Medical Center, and then joined the faculty at the University and served as a faculty member for 12 years. During his tenure at Columbia University, he served at various leadership positions and was a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. He joined Saint Clare’s in November 2014 and since then has been key in not only bringing in innovative ideas, but also has been instrumental in spearheading numerous projects with the goal of bringing in state-of-the-art evidence-based treatments to the community. Dr. Singh specializes in the psychopharmacological management of psychiatric disorders with expertise in medication management of psychiatric disorders, notably depression and other mood disorders.
