Denise Williams and Maureen Scahill serve as SHIP Medicare Counselors in the State Health Insurance Assistance Program. A Federal Government Program under the leadership of NORWESCAP (Northwest New Jersey Community Action Partnership), a noted and well-established social service organization.
Denise Williams’ prior experience has prepared her well as a counselor, and it has provided her with a diverse background that helps her to relate to her clients. Her previous experience includes:
Trained Medicare Counselor for 6 years
26 years as a schoolteacher
7 years as a proprietor of a retail establishment
11 years as a Financial Analyst with Nabisco Bakeries
Continuing service as an AARP Senior Planet Volunteer
In addition to being a trained SHIP Medicare Counselor for the past 6 years, Maureen Scahill’s experience includes:
20 years as a classroom teacher
14 years as a Long Term Disability Insurance Underwriter
The function of a SHIP Medicare Counselor is to educate people about Medicare options and to equip them to make knowledgeable choices about Medicare offerings.
