A dedicated palliative care social worker helps us navigate some of the most meaningful — and challenging — conversations in health care: how to talk with loved ones about future healthcare wishes.
Join us for an insightful talk with a dedicated palliative care social worker on navigating some of the most meaningful — and challenging — conversations in health care. We’ll cover how to talk with loved ones about future healthcare wishes. Learn simple, compassionate ways to start the conversation, respond to resistance, and keep discussions calm and respectful. We’ll also cover why documenting your preferences matters and explain important tools like healthcare directives and POLST (Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment) forms. Planning ahead is about making sure your voice is heard and easing the burden on those you love. Presented by Christine Alexopoulos, LCSW, Palliative Care Social Worker, Atlantic Health.
