"In Nietzsche's Footsteps" relates a trip Cohen took with his wife and four children to the philosopher's favorite haunts, including Nice, France, Turin, Italy and Sils Maria Switzerland.
Appealing to anyone who enjoys travel narratives/memoirs and students of philosophy, "In Nietzschse's Footsteps" relates a trip Cohen took with his wife and four children to Nietzche's favorite haunts, including Nice, France, Turin, Italy, and Sils Maria, Switzerland. Along the way, he explores what it means to be a philosopher and offers clear and relatable explanations of some of Nietzche's ideas. He also considers the contrast between being an individual, as his subject proscribes, and nurturing the bonds that make life worth living, chiefly those we have with family. Cohen is professor of philosophy at the University of Maine at Farmington. He writes on Nietzsche, ancient philosophy, Jewish philosophy, and other subjects.
