Learn about medical conditions, loud, unsafe toys/streaming devices which can impact your child's hearing from licensed private practice audiologist Doris A. Rapisardi, MAS-CCC-A, Lic. #149, from StyleTone Hearing Care LLC. This workshop, led by local audiologist Doris Rapisardi, will explore everything a parent/caregiver needs to know about a child's hearing health, including:
Brief physiology of hearing and balance
Find out about dangerous toys to avoid and hearing protection
How medical conditions -- such as ear infections, juvenile diabetes, cardiac, allergies, respiratory conditions, Central Auditory Processing -- can contribute to hearing challenges and solutions/strategies
Tools: What are the Signs and Symptoms, when is evaluation needed, tips on hearing protection and healthy hearing
PARENTS: Need help with the kids so you can attend? Older kids (age 8 and up) can come and watch the movie "Wonder Park" in the small meeting room during the workshop; the movie will start promptly at 6:30pm. Teen library volunteers will be on hand to help.
