Mountain Lakes author and journalist Mark Di Ionno will show his photographs from the four months he spent in Poland and Ukraine since the Russia invasion last February.
Mr. Di Ionno went to Poland during the first weeks of the war to assist in the massive exodus of Ukrainian citizens fleeing Russia's wanton and relentless barrage of missile attacks and ground force advances. He made three trips to Poland, which also took him into Ukraine to deliver food and medical supplies to refugee centers, then returned to Ukraine for most of this summer, when, in addition to civilian aid, he delivered supplies and equipment to the military, several times in the shadow of the Russian border.
The former longtime columnist at The Star-Ledger was a Pulitzer Prize finalist columnist in news commentary in 2013 for his coverage of Hurricane Sandy.
