Celebrate Black History Month with a fantastic quartet from JAZZ HOUSE KiDS. They will perform gorgeous standards from the pens of Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Thelonius Monk, and MORE!
Jazz is the music of resistance, resilience and change. Through this uniquely African-American art form, we celebrate Black History month by hosting a talented ensemble from Montclair’s JAZZ HOUSE KiDS. Come hear an hour of jazz favorites brought to life by a trio of today’s most talented young musicians.
Now in its 20th year, JAZZ HOUSE KiDS transforms lives using the power and legacy of jazz through world-class education and performances that create avenues of access, learning, career development and community building. The organization and students have received more than 125 awards and honors for excellence in jazz and jazz education. Every day of the week through a series of in-school and out-of-school programs, the JAZZ HOUSE prepares young people to become community leaders and global citizens, empowering them to find their voice both on and off the stage. At JAZZ HOUSE KiDS, we believe that learning to understand, create and love jazz, this GREAT AMERICAN ART FORM, reaps lifelong benefits that every child deserves to enjoy.
