Kathy Sheldon’s goal was always to own her own business. After 20 plus years of serving in management positions in various social services agencies, she did just that. Prasada In Home was started seven years ago. This was after several attempts of starting other businesses including a coffee shop, a wine tasting business, real estate, event planning, among others. She found success with Prasada In Home which primarily serves as a mental health recruiting agency. Prasada In Home recruits and hires licensed therapists, behavioral assistants, parent coaches, and respite caregivers to provide services in the homes of families who have children who struggle with mental health challenges, autism or other developmental disability. In addition, she owns Prasada Center, located in Mt. Arlington, which provides a Day Habilitation program for young adults with disabilities. In 2023 Prasada is expanding further and will be opening an outpatient counseling practice in Randolph. Kathy has a Masters in Counseling Psychology and a MBA in Healthcare Management. She also published a bestselling book with a number of other women business owners called Women Who Pivoted Post Pandemic. The turning point for Kathy in finding long term success with Prasada was learning from her other business endeavors, learning through mistakes and failures, and looking for support in areas that she was not an expert in. She looked to SCORE when she started Prasada In Home for advice on getting her business started. Then again a few years later, when she needed assistance in marketing so her business could stand out in a competitive industry. Now she hopes to help other business owners who are looking to start or grow their businesses by sharing her challenges, successes and expertise by joining SCORE as Mentor.
In addition we will hear from Bob Schiff, a SCORE mentor for almost ten years. He has vast experience in sales and sales management, spending the bulk of his career in developing clients in various consumer businesses.
