Make your garden grow! Learn everything you need to know about starting seeds indoors through the guidance from Rutgers Master Gardener Grace Tshanakas.
There is such joy and excitement watching as seedlings emerge and mature.
The biggest excitement, of course, is from either harvesting a food you have grown or seeing a beautiful flower develop.
In this presentation, you will learn everything you need to know about starting seeds indoors including seed types, supplies needed, the planting process and caring for seedlings.
Virtual handouts will include a great list of resources including Rutgers Fact Sheets.
Register online or by calling the library at (973) 584-2400. This event is presented in cooperation with the Roxbury Community Garden.
About the Presenter: After a 25-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Master Gardener Grace Tshanakas now spends most of her time gardening, writing and playing golf. Along with her husband, Grace maintains an 800 sq ft garden with 14 beds at her home in Randolph. She grows 100% of her vegetables from seed and 50% of her annual flowers from seed. Each year, Grace routinely grows 35 or more varieties of plants from seed. Grace also writes a ‘tip of the month’ for her local garden club and maintains a gardening blog gardening4joy.com.
