Where do houseplants come from? Dr. Allyson Salisbury discusses native habitats & ecology of common houseplants & how understanding their origins gives clues on how to best care for them. Plant swap.
Do you know where your favorite houseplant came from? The answer isn't a big box hardware store. Your houseplant might have evolved in African rainforests or perhaps the deserts of North America.
Houseplants offer a glimpse into diverse ecosystems across the world and illustrate some of the clever ways plants have adapted to challenging environments. And thanks to their fascinating origins, with a little TLC these plants can also survive on your windowsill.
Dr. Allyson Salisbury will guide you on an exploration of the native habitats and ecology of common houseplants, their unique adaptations and how understanding where houseplants come from can give us clues about how to best care for them.
PLANT SWAP! Bring a plant, go home with a new-to-you plant. 🪴🪴🪴
