Rutgers Master Gardener Grace Tshanakas shares the basics on how to create and maintain an organic vegetable garden.
Have you ever wondered what organic vegetable gardening is all about? In this session, you will learn the basics about how to create and maintain an organic vegetable garden.
The following topics are included: organic definition, understanding the basics of soil health, organic seeds, tillage, irrigation, fertilization, and pest/disease management.
About the Presenter: After a 25-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Grace now spends most of her time gardening, writing and playing golf. Along with her husband, Grace maintains an 800 sq ft garden with 14 beds at her home in Randolph. She grows 100% of her vegetables from seed and 50% of her annual flowers from seed. Each year, Grace routinely grows 35 or more varieties of plants from seed. Grace also writes a ‘tip of the month’ for her local garden club and maintains a gardening blog gardening4joy.com.
