Walter Hill shares World War II history of Cranford, NJ native Curtis Cullin's Rhino Plow, which aided the Allies in their "Breakout from Normandy" in 1944.
The Rhino Plow is a famed field expedient device invented soon after the D-Day landings in Normandy, France in 1944. It allowed the allied tank to plow through the centuries old hedgerows which were a common sight throughout Normandy and beyond. The soldier given the primary credit for the device is Sergeant Curtis Cullin, from Cranford, NJ. The Rhino Plow aided the Allied offensive in late July 1944, commonly referred to as the "Breakout from Normandy."
Program will be presented by Walter Hill.
