About Alexander Hamilton: Alexander Hamilton, the self-made Founding Father, rose from humble beginnings in St. Croix to become George Washington’s confidante, Chief of Staff, and the nation’s first Secretary of the Treasury. A soldier at heart, Hamilton trained as an artillery officer and served with distinction during the Revolutionary War. Though not formally known to have studied swordplay, he was well-versed in musketry and military discipline. He co-authored the Federalist Papers, helped establish the U.S. Coast Guard, fought against slavery, and laid the groundwork for America’s financial system—warning of unregulated banking long before modern economic crises.
