Like to play chess? Want to learn how? Join us for a monthly gathering of open play and coaching for those new to the game.
Whether you're a seasoned player or curious about how the pieces move, our monthly Checkmate offers a friendly, low-pressure space to enjoy the game and improve your skills. Come to play casual matches, learn the basics from fellow chess enthusiasts, or simply watch and pick up tips along the way. For Teens and Adults -- anyone 12 and up -- and all experience levels are welcome. Bring your strategy and enjoy some thoughtful fun over the board.
Please note this event will end after the library is closed. Participants will exit through the door directly to the back of the library.
Please BYO Chess set, if you have one.
