Established in 1986, AVIDD Community Services of NJ currently provides quality services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through community housing, job training, job placement services, and social and recreational experiences. AVIDD is committed to helping people thrive in their communities and assisting them in achieving their full potential. Using a person-centered planning approach, the offer a variety of support services to help individuals become more independent in their daily activities and their participation in their communities. Their Residential Services are focused on community participation, individual empowerment, and family support, and they have 17 residences throughout Morris, Bergen, and Somerset counties.
About the presenter: Melissa Blanchard is a dedicated human services professional with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families affected by intellectual, developmental, and mental health disabilities. She brings proven expertise in program coordination, staff leadership, and community engagement, with a strong commitment to empowering individuals to achieve their goals. For the past nine years, Melissa has served as a Coordinator at AVIDD, overseeing supportive employment, transition programming, and recreation services. She prides herself on building collaborative relationships, creating inclusive programs, and delivering person-centered outcomes that foster independence, personal growth and an enhanced quality of life.
The Roxbury Township Public Library is a municipal library serving the communities of Succasunna, Ledgewood, Landing, Berkshire Valley, Port Morris, and Kenvil.
