1/13/2026: THE ROAD TO REVOLUTION (1492-1776)
From the Age of Antiquity and the first democracies to the Age of Sail and Christopher Columbus. Includes the colonizing of America, the French and Indian War and George Washington, to the taxes, the protests, the violence, and the call to arms.
2/10/2026: INDEPENDENCE and THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR (1775-1783)
From the second Continental Congress and The Declaration of Independence to the people and events including Paul Revere’s Ride, Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, Washington Crossing the Delaware, New Jersey.
3/10/2026: AFTER THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR (1783-1814)
Establishing our country with a new constitution and first President, George Washington. From the American Revolution to the French Revolution to the War of 1812.
About the Presenter: Joel Farkas is a retired volunteer docent and tour guide for the National Park Service at Washington's Headquarters in Morristown. He lectures on the Revolutionary War and the Founding Of Our Country. He hopes to motivate you to learn more about the founding of our country -- the extraordinary people, and the sacrifices they made, that resulted in the country we live in today. Joel is a graduate of Ohio State, and was an officer in the United States Army. As a volunteer docent for the National Park Service at Washington’s Headquarters, he was a recipient of the National Park Service Centennial Volunteer Challenge Award. He also collects original historical autographs and is an enrichment lecturer for America Cruise Lines.
